Biography
Rick Burleson has been practicing law in the oil and gas industry for over 30 years. In 2005, he founded Burleson LLP with a handful of seasoned energy lawyers. It has quickly become the largest law firm in the country devoted primarily to the oil and gas industry.
Rick has a broad business practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and energy. His clients include independent oil and gas companies, private equity groups, senior and mezzanine lenders, and other public and privately held businesses in the oil and gas industry. Rick's experience centers on structuring acquisitions and divestitures and other merger and acquisition transactions, including negotiation and documentation of letters of intent, purchase and sale agreements, and equity contribution, subordinated debt, and partnership and shareholder agreements, as well as senior secured loan and security agreements.
A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and the University of Houston Law Center, Rick is a fixture on the national oil and gas scene and is very active in his community. A board member of the Houston Ballet and the Palmer Drug Abuse Program, Rick is also a former President of the Houston Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.
