Biography
John Whipkey concentrates his practice in oil and gas, title, and litigation matters. John was drawn to Burleson LLP by the opportunity to practice law within the burgeoning energy industry. Prior to joining Burleson, he served as an associate with a Pittsburgh law firm that primarily represented health care professionals and organizations in professional liability and employment actions. In that capacity, John obtained several jury verdicts in favor of his
clients in both state and federal court. He also secured numerous arbitration awards for an automobile manufacturer in several breach of warranty cases. John clerked for the Honorable John M. Cascio, Somerset County Court of Common Pleas, and the Honorable Mary Jane
Bowes, Superior Court of Pennsylvania, prior to entering private practice. While in law school, he served as an editor of the University of Pittsburgh Journal of Law and Commerce. He was named a Pennsylvania Rising Star by Pennsylvania Super Lawyer magazine in 2010.
