Biography
Demetri Economou focuses his practice on litigation and complex oil and gas title. As part of Burleson's Litigation Practice Group, Demetri collaborates with other attorneys in the preparation of pleadings, motions and memoranda, as well as discovery, mediation and arbitration-related matters. Demetri is passionate about the preservation of property rights, and monitors developments in state and federal chemical disclosure regulations relating to hydraulic fracturing, especially with regard to the protection of trade secrets and proprietary information. His practice also includes providing services concerning the probate of wills, trusts and administration of estates.
In support of Burleson's Oil and Gas Title Practice Group, Demetri conducts examination of deeds, leases, assignments, and other instruments affecting mineral and surface title, in addition to other complex oil and gas title matters. While in law school, Demetri served on the Editorial Board of the Construction Law Journal, published by the State Bar of Texas, Construction Law Section, and was President of the Texas Exes.
Demetri currently volunteers with ASPIRE of Houston, a group providing social skills and peer relationship education to young adults on the autism spectrum. He also serves on the Special Olympics Committee of the Houston Bar Association.
